About the Gold Duckwing Welsummer
The rarest of the Welsummer colours, the gold duckwing carries the same duckwing layout as the silver but with golden feathering of varying shades in place of the white, giving the cock a warmer hackle and saddle over a black breast. It is very scarce and largely confined to continental Europe, and is not part of the long-unrevised UK Welsummer standard. Like all Welsummers it retains the deep reddish-brown, frequently speckled egg and the breed's hardy, good-laying constitution.
