About the Blue Wyandotte
A self-blue variety in the Andalusian-blue sense: an even slate-grey body where the blue gene dilutes black pigment, often with darker feather edges. Because blue is co-dominant it does not breed true — blue x blue gives roughly half blue, a quarter black and a quarter splash. APA-recognised in 1977, it carries the usual rounded Wyandotte type and large brown eggs.
