About the Chocolate Wyandotte
A rich, even chocolate-brown self colour produced by the sex-linked recessive chocolate gene; uniquely, Wyandottes exist in both an imported recessive-chocolate and a dun-based form, the only breed to carry both. Because the gene is sex-linked, a chocolate cock over a black hen gives chocolate daughters and black sons. Not APA-recognised and genuinely rare; type and large brown eggs follow the standard.
