About the Lavender Wyandotte
An even, soft lavender-grey over the whole bird, produced by the recessive lavender (self-blue) gene that dilutes black uniformly — unlike blue, it breeds true and shows no lacing or splash variation. A recent addition standardised in the UK around 2014 and not APA-recognised, so it remains scarce. It keeps the rounded Wyandotte type, rose comb and large brown eggs.
