About the Partridge Wyandotte
Hens show fine black pencilling drawn three times around each feather over a rich brown ground, while cocks carry the bold black-breasted red "partridge" colouring. Genetically it is simply the gold (s+) counterpart of the silver pencilled and is unrelated to the partridge E-allele; it was APA-recognised in 1893. A striking, intricate variety on the usual rounded Wyandotte frame, laying large brown eggs.
