About the Self Blue Wyandotte
"Self blue" is the traditional British name for the lavender variety — an even lavender-grey over the entire bird from the recessive lavender gene, which dilutes black uniformly and breeds true (unlike Andalusian blue, it shows no lacing or splash). Recently standardised in the UK and still scarce, it carries the rounded Wyandotte type and large brown eggs.
