About the Silver Laced Wyandotte
The original and defining Wyandotte, standardised in America in 1883. Each white feather carries a clean, even black edge, producing a crisp scalloped lacing across the whole bird that remains a benchmark for show breeders. It set the rounded, full-feathered, rose-combed type from which every other colour was later developed, and it lays large brown eggs as a reliable dual-purpose bird.
