About the Silver Penciled Wyandotte
The silver counterpart of the partridge: hens carry fine black pencilling, repeated three times across each feather, over a clear silver-grey ground, while cocks show silver hackle and saddle with a black breast. Genetically it is the silver (S) version of partridge and was APA-recognised in 1902. The delicate pencilling sits on the breed's deep, rounded body; lays large brown eggs.
