About the Pale Grey-Buff With Black Neck Collar Eurasian Collared Dove
The species' single natural plumage: uniform pale grey-buff, a shade darker above than below and faintly pink on the head and breast, with the trademark thin black half-collar edged white across the nape. The bill is black, the legs red and the iris dark red, while the tail shows whitish tips and a blue-grey underwing patch flashes in flight. Sexes are alike; juveniles are duller and lack the collar until about twelve weeks. A calm, adaptable, prolific aviary dove as well as a familiar garden bird.
