About the Blonde Ring-necked Dove
"Blonde" is the breeders' name for the classic blond (fawn) Ringneck — the same sex-linked dilute of the dark wild-type colour, recessive to dark and dominant to white, giving the pale pinkish-fawn body with the black nape ring. Along with white it is one of the two original domesticated forms kept for centuries before the modern colour mutations, and "dilute" or "blond" is the same gene used as a base for many combination colours.
