About the Rosy Ring-necked Dove
Rosy is an autosomal recessive mutation (gene symbol ry) giving a soft reddish, two-toned bird with reduced dark pigment and a mauve cast to the head; juveniles closely resemble plain blonds before the colour develops. Crossed with other mutations it contributes to further combination colours such as coral. A delicate pastel colour on the breed's gentle, long-domesticated pet dove.
