About the Tangerine Ring-necked Dove
Tangerine is a striking modern mutation: an intense rusty-red body set against a violet head, neck and breast, with flights ranging from grey to almost white and the half-collar showing white to pale grey. Genetically it is a codominant (intermediate-dominant) gene, and its dilute form is the paler Orange. One of the bolder colours to emerge in the post-1960 expansion of Ringneck colours, on the same gentle, tameable aviary dove.
