About the Brown With White-Spotted Black Neck Patch Spotted Dove
This is the species' natural plumage: a long-tailed, buff-brown dove whose defining feature is the broad black half-collar on the back and sides of the neck, each feather bifurcated and tipped with white spots to form a distinctive spotted "necklace". The body is rosy-buff below, greyer on the head and belly, with buff-spotted wing coverts and white-tipped tail feathers. As with all Spotted Doves it is a calm, undemanding aviary bird with a pleasant cooing call.
