About the Chocolate and White Ancona

The chocolate Ancona shows warm brown patches in place of black, broken randomly across the white ground in the breed's signature no-two-alike pattern. Chocolate is a sex-linked recessive trait: a chocolate drake over a black duck yields all-chocolate daughters and black sons, letting breeders sex ducklings by colour. It keeps the Ancona's white neck, spotted bill and hardy, generous-laying character.
