About the Aleutian Call Duck
Aleutian is a pale, silvery-grey Call duck — sometimes called "Dark Silver" in the UK — in which the mallard pattern is softened and lightened by the combination of light-phase and blue (silver) dilution genes, reducing the dark portion of every feather. The result is a washed-out, frosted version of the grey/mallard pattern rather than a sharply marked one. It is a recognised colour among Call breeders but a non-standard variety, not currently included in the main show standards, and is fairly uncommon.
