About the White Hook Bill

The white variety is pure white throughout, set off by blue eyes, bright orange legs and a flesh-pink bill — a striking contrast to the dusky form's grey body and dark head. It is one of the three colours recognised in the UK, the Netherlands and France (UK standardised 1997). Beneath the plumage it is the same critically rare Dutch duck, with the characteristic downward-curving bill, strong foraging instinct and blue, green or white eggs.
