About the Blue Indian Runner
A self-blue Runner, standardised in the UK as the Cumberland Blue: rich dark slate-blue plumage throughout, with darker blue lacing on the wing coverts, a bluish-green bill and smoky orange-to-grey legs. The colour comes from a single blue-dilution allele acting on a black bird, so any russet or non-blue feathering is a fault. It carries the breed's signature bolt-upright, bowling-pin stance and active foraging habit, laying white-to-greenish eggs prolifically.
