About the Mallard Indian Runner
The wild-type colour: drakes show a green-lustred black head with a white neck-collar over brown body shading, while ducks are brown with the classic mallard eye-stripe and feather graining. Admitted to the standard in 1982, it is the Runner rendered in undiluted wild plumage (+), the baseline from which the trout and apricot variants are derived.
