About the Dark Khaki Campbell
The Dark Campbell is a deeper, undiluted version of the khaki — essentially the dusky-mallard colour without the brown dilution, resembling a dark Call duck but still without eye-stripes or a bright speculum. It was bred by H.R.S. Humphreys of Devon and standardised in 1954 specifically to give sex-linkage: crossing a khaki drake over dark females yields khaki-toned females and darker males, letting breeders sex day-old ducklings by down colour. Utility and laying ability are those of the standard Campbell.
