About the White Khaki Campbell
The White Campbell is pure white throughout with a distinctive yellow bill rather than the slate of the khaki, the white arising from a recessive gene that masks the underlying colour. Developed by Captain F.S. Pardoe in 1924 and admitted to the standard in 1954, it was selected to give a cleaner table carcass while keeping the breed's renowned laying utility. Behaviour and egg output match the khaki: an active, hardy, rarely-broody layer of white eggs.
