About the Black Miniature Crested Duck
The Black carries solid, dense black plumage that should show a green sheen in good condition, giving a bold contrast to the white-feathered crest tuft and making the pom-pom stand out crisply on the head. As a bantam Crested Miniature it remains an active, pint-sized exhibition duck, and because the crest gene is lethal in double dose it must be bred crested-to-plain. The Crested Miniature standard accepts any colour provided the markings are symmetrical.
