About the Black Muscovy

Black is the wild-type, baseline colour of the Muscovy and the most common: a solid black plumage with a green-bronze sheen, set against the breed's knobbly red facial caruncles. Ducklings hatch with dark heads, bodies, bills and feet. All other Muscovy colours derive from this base by dilution or recessive genes, so the Black carries the breed's hardy, quiet, fine lean-meat character in its purest form.
