About the Ripple Muscovy
Ripple is a recessive pattern rather than a colour: each feather carries fine wavy stripes of darker and lighter shade, concentrated on the wings and tail and shown over a base colour such as black, blue, chocolate or lavender. Unlike juvenile barring it persists for life, and an occasional rippled feather on a solid bird flags a hidden carrier. The patterning aside, it remains the breed's hardy, quiet, broody meat duck.
