About the Blue With White Bib Pomeranian Duck
The blue Pomeranian carries a uniform light, slate-blue plumage broken by a crisp white bib on the upper breast. The blue is produced by a single dilution gene, so blue-to-blue matings never breed true — they throw roughly half blue, a quarter black and a quarter pale splash/silver. Unlike the similar Blue Swedish, the Pomeranian shows no white in the primaries. A hardy German Baltic-coast landrace, it is a robust dual-purpose duck that lays a modest number of white eggs and is now rare.
