About the Silver Welsh Harlequin
The Silver is the higher-contrast phase: a black-pigmented overlay gives it greater brilliance and definition than the Gold, with both sexes carrying a vivid iridescent blue speculum (not the Gold's bronze) and drakes showing a bright Mallard-like green head. Females show cream-to-grey shading with dark brown or black stippling. This is the phase standardised in the US, accepted into the APA Standard of Perfection in 2001. Underneath the colour it is the same light, prolific Campbell-derived layer of white eggs.
