About the White Embden
The only recognised colour, the White Embden carries completely pure-white plumage set against a bright orange bill and legs and clear blue eyes; young birds may show some grey, often under the wing, in their first year. One of the first two geese standardised in the UK (1865), British selection bred it into a solid, strong-necked giant — ganders can top 12kg and stand a metre tall — making it the classic fast-growing white table goose.
