About the Tufted Roman Goose
Identical to the plain White Roman but for a distinctive tuft on the crown that begins just over the eyes and inclines backwards, giving the bird a jaunty topknot. The tufted form dates from the breed's main 1924 import; in the UK both tufted and non-tufted are standardised and shown, while in North America the Tufted Roman is the only recognised form, admitted to the APA Standard of Perfection in 1977. The plumage is otherwise pure white with the breed's pale blue eyes and orange-pink beak and legs.
