About the Grey Steinbacher
Grey is the non-blue form of the Steinbacher and, alongside blue, is one of the two varieties standardised in Great Britain and Germany. Genetically it simply lacks the blue dilution, giving a darker, wild-type grey instead of the lavender cast, while keeping the breed's upright, confident carriage and the orange bill ringed in black 'lipstick'. Goslings of all colours hatch with black bills and legs that change to the adult colour as they mature.
