About the Buff Toulouse
A scarcer colour variety carrying the same pattern as the grey but rendered in a warm buff tone, with the soft shading and paler feather edging replicated in fawn rather than slate. The buff was developed from naturally occurring Toulouse sports by breeder Paul Lofland in Oregon and gained APA recognition much later than the grey, in 1977. It shares the breed's heavy build, dewlap and placid nature; in the UK it remains far less obtainable than the standard grey.
