About the Black With White Spots Crested Guinea Fowl

The signature plumage of Guttera: a blackish ground colour densely peppered with rows of small bluish-white spots, giving an evenly speckled, dark-bodied bird. Above this sits the diagnostic mop of curly black crest feathers that replaces the bony helmet of the common guinea fowl, set over a bare face with a pale ivory bill and red eye. As the only colour form in aviculture, it is kept as an exotic ornamental rather than a utility bird, prized for these unusual looks.
