A very dark, almost black bird that throws a distinct purplish sheen in sunlight, semi-pearled with white spotting confined to the lower wings and flanks rather than all over. A fairly common and popular ornamental colour worldwide while keeping the breed's loud, semi-wild ranging temperament.
