About the Grey With Bold Black And White Face Mask Chukar Partridge
This is the wild-type plumage of the Chukar: a sandy light-brown back over a grey breast and buff belly, set off by a crisp white face and throat ringed by a sharply defined black 'necklace' gorget that runs from the forehead through the eye. The flanks carry the breed's signature bold vertical bars of black, white and chestnut, while the bill and legs are coral-red. It is the standard, instantly recognisable form of this hardy, sociable game and aviary partridge that prefers running to flying.
