About the Grey With White Throat And Black Border Rock Partridge
The sole, wild-type plumage of the Rock Partridge: light brown to blue-grey upperparts and a grey breast, with boldly black-and-rufous barred flanks. Its hallmark is a clean white throat sharply ringed by a black gorget (collar), set off by a thin white line over the eye, with red bill and legs. The sharply defined gorget and white (not yellowish) foreneck distinguish it from the red-legged partridge and the closely related chukar. A hardy, surefooted alpine gamebird, near-threatened in parts of its range.
