About the Silver Pied Indian Peafowl
The showiest pied form: a bird that is roughly 90% white and only about 10% coloured, with a distinctive frosted, silvered saddle and mantle that deepens as the cock matures. Genetically it is three things working together — the pied pattern, the white-eye pattern and the white colour allele — which is what frosts the saddle and sets it apart from ordinary pied white-eye birds.
