About the Iridescent Green And Bronze Java Green Peafowl
The nominate Java race (Pavo muticus muticus) is often called the most colourful of the green peafowls: a metallic golden-green neck and breast bearing the species' distinctive dragon-scale feathering, set off by cerulean-blue wing coverts and bronze-and-black flights. Unlike the Indian peacock, both cock and hen share the glittering green neck, dark wings and erect crest. A taller, more demanding ornamental species, endangered in the wild and kept chiefly in serious avicultural and conservation collections.
