About the Green-Blue Blend Spalding Peafowl
The wild-type Spalding shows the intermediate blend that defines the hybrid: the Green peafowl's shimmering emerald and gold neck and breast tempered by the Indian Blue's hardier constitution, with intensity varying by green-blood percentage ("high" vs "low" Spaldings). Cocks tend to a leaner, taller frame than pure Indian Blues, and hens carry far more defined green metallic colour around the neck. As a hybrid the variety does not breed true, throwing offspring across the blue-green spectrum.
