About the Bohemian Common Pheasant
The Bohemian is a pale, cream-coloured variant of the common pheasant developed within British stock, its washed-out buff-and-cream plumage standing apart from the dark coppery norm. It is a colour mutation maintained for ornament and for visibility in the shooting field rather than a separate subspecies. Like all common pheasants it is hardy and prolific, and most birds carry mixed heritage through interbreeding.
