About the Kansas Common Pheasant
The Kansas is a compact, lightly built ringneck strain — roughly 20% smaller than the Chinese ringneck, with cocks around 2.5lb — long-tailed and among the lightest, flightiest pheasants reared. Often rated the most beautiful of the ringneck strains, it is sometimes called a "blue-back" and is favoured on driven shoots for its explosive, strong flying. Plumage is the standard white-ringed coppery-bronze of the common pheasant.
