About the Mahogany Golden Pheasant
Mahogany is a combined mutation: per Delacour it is a dark-throated cinnamon Golden, the dark-throated gene stacked on the cinnamon mutation to deepen the cock's reddish-brown into a rich mahogany. It is one of the captive-only Golden colour forms and, like all of them, is kept purely for its ornamental plumage on the same hardy, easily managed bird.
