About the Red Gold Golden Pheasant

Red Gold is the wild type, the form the species wears in the mountains of western China, and aviculturists use the name to distinguish it from the captive colour mutations. The cock blazes in scarlet underparts and gold, with a silky golden crest and the orange-and-black cape he flares in display. Hardy, easy in an aviary, and the most familiar of all the Golden forms.
