About the Salmon Golden Pheasant

Salmon is a derived Golden Pheasant mutation: per Delacour it is a dark-throated yellow Golden, the dark-throated gene laid over the yellow mutation to give a softer, salmon-toned cock rather than the clear yellow of a plain Yellow Golden. Like the breed's other captive colour forms it is purely ornamental and shares the species' hardy, beginner-friendly aviary nature.
