About the Crawford'S Kalij Pheasant

Crawfurd's Kalij (L. l. crawfurdi), from south-east Myanmar to peninsular Thailand, belongs to the eastern group whose pattern reverses the typical Kalij: the crest and underparts stay glossy blue-black, but the tail and upperparts are white (or very pale grey) densely vermiculated with black. The bare red face is retained. Like all Kalij it is hardy and easy-going, one of the simpler ornamental pheasants to keep.
