About the Black African Owl

A self Black, this variety is judged on a deep, sound, even black carried through to rump, thigh and belly, ideally with a green hackle lustre on the neck. It is one of the long-recognised self colours of the African Owl, where the dark plumage throws the breed's defining short downturned beak and white-frothed jabot into sharp relief on a small, round, dainty exhibition bird.
