About the Copper With Iridescent Blue Wings Archangel
This variety pairs the Archangel's fiery copper body — an even, fine copper from head to under-tail with no green cast — against pure pigeon-blue wings, rather than the beetle-green-sheened black wings of the classic form. The blue wing replaces the green-iridescence emphasis with a clean, even blue ground, and like the breed's other colour forms it is recognised chiefly in the United States rather than in Britain. Still kept solely for its lustrous, metallic exhibition plumage.
