About the Almond Birmingham Roller
Almond is a striking, mottled colour: a sex-linked pattern that breaks the ground colour with flecks and splashes of black and bronze over a yellowish base, each bird unique. Almond is found in the old common tumbler stock behind the Birmingham Roller, so it occurs in the breed, though many almonds also carry Oriental Roller ancestry. Colour aside, the bird is prized for its tumbling roll, not its looks.
