About the Blue Birmingham Roller
Blue is the wild-type ground colour and the most common in the breed: a blue-grey body with two black wing bars and a dark tail bar. As with all Birmingham Rollers, colour is incidental — the bird is bred and competed for its rapid backward-tumbling roll in flight, not its plumage, and there is no nationally approved show standard for the breed.
