About the Black Carneau
The Black Carneau is a deep raven black carrying a beetle-green sheen, and is distinguished in the standard by black beak and black toenails (where the red and yellow carry cream/flesh), with eyes red to orange. It is one of the breed's recognised standard colours but among the scarcer forms. In all other respects it is the same large, calm, heavily built French-Belgian utility pigeon bred for squab.
