About the Black English Carrier
Black is one of the three original colours the English Carrier was limited to by the mid-19th century, alongside white and dun, and remains a foundation exhibition colour. A solid, dense, lustrous black plumage throws the breed's defining facial features into sharp relief: the long beak, the bold rounded beak-wattle and the prominent eye ceres, all the more striking against the dark ground on this tall, upright show pigeon.
