About the Blue English Carrier
Blue is a later addition to the English Carrier palette, beyond the original black, white and dun, and is now an accepted standard colour. It shows the classic wild-type blue ground with darker wing bars, giving a more patterned look than the self colours. As with all Carriers, the value lies less in the plumage than in the long beak, rounded beak-wattle and developed eye ceres of this stately, upright exhibition breed.
