About the Almond English Long-faced Tumbler
Almond is the signature, historic colour of the long-faced tumblers in which the almond (Stipper) mutation was developed. This dominant, sex-linked depigmenting gene 'breaks' a rich ground colour with random flecks and spangles, so a good almond carries up to several colours on a single feather and brightens with each moult. As with all English Long-faced Tumblers, it sits on a small, fine-beaked exhibition bird bred in clean-legged and muffed forms.
